Out with the old...

junkmachine
...and in with the NEW! New computer that is. Its currently on its way, probably in the hands of a postal carrier somewhere. One of the best things about this? The new machine will run Photoshop, unlike its predecessor; it was having difficulties with iTunes. So what this means is that hopefully I'll be putting more stuff up here on a regular basis. This will actually be the first time that I'll be using my own machine for photo editing! I can customize my pallets, manage my files, set up automated tasks all to my hearts content! Whoo hoo!

I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck....

Busted up bike
Actually it was a late model Ford F-150. On the way home this evening an oncoming truck turned left across the lane I was travelling in. I was going about 35 km/h and he was going pretty slow.I braked, I think he did too - but we were so close that I still rolled across his hood. It all happened quite fast. The guy asked if I was alright a few times, but avoided giving me any information. He claimed he had nothing in his vehical to write with. He never even told me his name when asked. I memorized his liscence plate and repeated it to myself the whole way home. Not too sure how much the damages will cost, I'll be having my bike checked out at Woodcock cycle works. Not sure what the damage will cost, but I'll definately be reporting the guy to AutoPac and the Police.

Pandora

I was shown this by my Dad, who was pointed in the direction of it by Roy Willams of the Wizzard Academy. This thing has to be the best development in music technology since the iPod and iTunes. I've just tried it a few times and already I'm hooked. It instantly makes you that cool guy who has a massivly diverse music collection of all those good songs that no one has ever heard of before.

Pandora is the brain child of Tim Westergren and others at the Music Genome Project who have "set out to capture the essence of music at the most fundamental level" And by doing so have a massive collection of tunes that are sorted not necessarly just by genre but by the aspects of the song itself.
Everything from melody, harmony and rhythm, to instrumentation, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics, and of course the rich world of singing and vocal harmony. It's not about what a band looks like, or what genre they supposedly belong to, or about who buys their records - it's about what each individual song sounds like.
-The Music Genome Project

Pandora is the player for this collection of music, and by putting in some input of your own, it caters what it plays to your likes and dislikes. Very cool, but hey why not give it a try?
